WHAT THE HELL IS IPv6 AND WHEN WILL IT DESTROY YOU?
Well folks, I’m going to sidestep the domain basics for a moment to ask a question about something you may have heard of but know nothing about. It seems like the oddball powers that be are hard at work to replace the IP addresses that make up your valuable domain names. Or are they?

SUCCESSCLICK OPENS UP NEW TECHNOLOGY WITH A DOMAIN
I know most domainers want to make a nice profit with their premium domains. I’m no different. I’d like to see some big money from domains I own, but something touched me a few weeks ago that made me want to explore new “trails” that I blazed by selling a domain for thousands of dollars

WHAT CAN YOU LEARN FROM DOMAINER GOSSIP?
This isn’t an expose on the leaders of the domain industry news leaders, nor on myself or any of my fellow domain bloggers. This is just a little “note” for domainers who want to learn the business quickly and find their profit goals without encountering despair. Maybe this little blog message can sail across the

WHAT DOMAINS SHOULD YOU BUILD OUT? - A QUICK LESSON
Don’t we all wish we owned popular one word dotcom domains? Of course. Those domains are no-brainers for selling, parking, or building out to very valuable websites. Zappy can attest to the power of a good domain, good programmers and a focused marketing direction. Your life would be vastly different if you owned Chocolate.com&...

SUCCESSCLICK KNOCKS GODADDY IN THE HEAD
Well, it seems official. My blog post regarding Go Daddy’s policy of locking down domains for 60 days if you even “slightly” change the registrant information hit some raw nerves in Domainer Land, and ICANN got the message. Thanks to all those who worked with me to push this information forward for the last several ...

SO WHAT’S NEXT FOR DOMAINERS? SONGS?
Here’s an odd gift I’m giving to my readers: An old song that helps domainers keep their focus… When you think you’re not on the right track, think of everything you have around you to help you find your bullseye. I make good money at buying and selling domains and consulting for other domainers. When I’...

DISASTER! DOMAIN NAMES LOSE 95% OF VALUE OVERNIGHT!
It’s true! We’ve all been destroyed. Domainers have been victims of a cruel hoax for the last ten years, and we’ve paid hundreds of thousands, even millions and billions of dollars to buy domains we thought would be valuable investments. BUT IT’S BEEN A FRAUD ON US! The domain industry is collapsing

BEWARE OF THE GODADDY DOMAIN DUNGEON
I have about 100 domains with Go Daddy. The amount varies because I buy and sell domains with people who have Go Daddy accounts. I’m not a big fan of Go Daddy for new domain registrations because their prices are much higher than other domainer-friendly registrars (what domainer wants to pay $10 a domain?)

DOMAINER “HOW-TO” eBOOKS - REVEALED!!
DOMAIN EBOOKS! There’s quite a few of them out there. For those who are novices and professionals, you might think you don’t need to buy a domain ebook because you’re “so well-informed and got it going-on as a domainer”. Think again. There are some MUST HAVE ebooks, whether just to re-organize your mind...

ALICE IN DOMAINERLAND – WHO IS THE WALRUS?
There’s been a lot of talk around the industry of late regarding the changes in Google and Yahoo ad syndication. The changes don’t seem to be favorable to domainers, or to the future of adlink pay-per-click (PPC) monetization. I personally don’t have inside contacts to know the intent of those who provide the ̶...

CAN DOMAINERS FIND A BETTER TERM THAN “DIRECT NAVIGATION”?
It’s been bugging me for several years now, but the term “direct navigation” is really not going to work in teaching the public about “type-in traffic”. It doesn’t define very well the process of reaching a website by typing in a domain name, but it seems to have caught on amongst the domain

TUCOWS “REVEALS” THEY HAVE DOMAINS! HOLY DOUBLE COW CRAP!
Amazingly, a major registrar, Tucows sticks their finger in their eye by blurting out they have thousands, as in 150,000, domains for sale in their “private domain name portfolio”. *EYES WIDENING AND BLINKING IN DISBELIEF*

WHO BOUGHT “SECONDARYBRANDING.COM” WHEN I POSTED THE TERM?
Not much to say, my good readers. I could yell out “To Arms! To Arms!”, but I’d wake up the house and it isn’t 1774. Here’s the deal: The domain name “secondarybranding.com” was available the day I posted my blog article about “Secondary Branding“. I forgot to register it (stupid...

SECONDARY BRANDING – DOMAINS FOR BUSINESS
I was posting on some of the fine domain blogs and news sites lately and coined the phrase “Secondary Branding”. Some people have asked me what that was and how that term applies to domain values. It’s a simple concept, and for the fact that it is simple, I think it should be

BUSINESS ALERT – FORGET TM DOMAINS, WORRY ABOUT THE GENERICS
The story on Money CNN blares out a warning to businesses regarding their company names and trademarks being stolen by nefarious domainers. Ahem. This is old news. Any company who has some decent value will already know about how to protect their trademarks online by preventing or fighting to recapture domain names that describe

ARE DOMAIN VALUES LIKE PROVING LIFE ON MARS?
The Christian Science Monitor just published an article by Chris Gaylord that is touting the increasing investment value of domain names . It’s a nice article, fairly simplified, but covering some key points from the big players in our industry. Although the article explained adequately the process of “direct navigation&...

HOW TO SPOT A NAUGHTY REGISTRAR
Many of us domainers take registrars for granted most of the time. That’s very strange, because it’s like putting our life in the hands of a brain surgeon who has to remove a small benign tumor. The tumor won’t kill us, but the surgeon and his team could. That’s a registrar. Registrars are the most

THE AFTERMARKET IS YOUR FIRST MARKET
Just what “is” the domain “aftermarket”? You’d be surprised how many businesses don’t know, or have a wrong opinion of this very important part of successfully creating their business online. The aftermarket domain industry is made up of domain buyers who already own a domain that could be extreme...

ITSYOURDOMAIN.COM TRIES TO PULL A G.W. BUSH
After sorting through a huge pile of spam responses (my fault, domainer warriors, I gotta get one of those “If you’re on LSD please type in what you see” spam preventer code fields), I found a bunch of legit comments to many of my blog posts. I approved them all so go check and see

EVISCERATING A REGISTRAR (Guts and Blood Are Revealed)
Anyone who has bid and won a domain on the expiring domain auction sites knows what it is like to deal with half-assed, no morals, unethical registrars who are submitting their customers’ domains for auction. These registrars (many or most are resellers) are more interested in preventing the renewal of your domain unless it...

AUCTION MADNESS! OVERSEE CAPTURES THE AFTERMARKET!
Well my domainer warriors, it looks like 2008 is going to be the “Year of the Domain Auction.” In light of this realization, I have a great idea for all independent domainers; Let’s auction off all our domains! If we domainers, which I estimate to be around 10,000, submit our domains for
