Bad chess: Domainers UDRP domainers… Now here’s a question.
I KNOW this has crossed our minds.
If a cybersquatter or what we would call a very unethical domainer, could register trademarked or typo trademarked names, whats to stop them from making a $1500 dollar bet on a six figure name?
If you think about it, whats ten grand to file some UDRPs on names and all

A domain hack at #1… In reference to my last posting about Google looking beyond .com, this time a domain hack is at #1 for a very common name… (read to the end, I’ll post there)
Now I’m not showing these things to devalue .com, but I do want these examples to serve as a wakeup call for those that park their

Google looking beyond .com? I’ve been seeing other TLD extensions rise in google over .com. Keep an open mind to all .extensions.
In response to a posting at the Domainer’s Gazette, Here, I had responded to #1 on the list.
“lol , I had the same feelings for extensions other than .com BUT, from my SEO work and studying the serps,

Research shows three types of searches. I read an interesting article today about how researchers have managed to classify three types of searches found from search engines. What I get from it is, that the biggest chunk of searches is informational, which is about 80%.
If you develop your domain names first from an informative point of view, as oppose to just being

Beware: My TDNAM domain error. On Godaddy’s TDNAM domain aftermarket, be careful when you’re about to checkout with the “buy it now/bid” button. Lol, after finding out about this new “buy it now/bid” option for expired names, I went and found a great generic/traffic name with a starting bid of about $xx. But of course, not want...

I’ve acquired a kidney for a domain name…
Today I took possession of a lovely red kidney in a igloo cooler. I’ve managed to trade “idiotU.com” for it.
I’m still trying to figure out how to monetize it.
Also another problem I’m dealing with. Should I put it in the freezer along with my ice cream and meats? OR should I trade another domain name a...

Debate: City.com domain names. Should “city.com” type domain names be in the hands of their local governments or in the hands of domainers.
Why?

Accidental cybersquatters and extortioners I’m not sure why, but it seems that every friend of mine that wanted to try their hand at domaining wound up registering trademarked names that were available or unflattering trademarked name combos. Why is that?
I had a close friend who was my business account banker at my local Chase bank registered a few years ago the

Domainers with cockroach tendencies do not help… ooookay… This has happened more than once to me, like alot.
Previously, before my current situation, I’ve contacted owners of .com names. The last owner I’ve contacted, had the name parked, nothing special but the site was very useless in terms of what people were looking for. It was a small city.com like less t...

Fox News reports on our domain name industry. Wow, I haven’t seen this video before. User FPForum from Namepros.com posted this link up. Thanks!
would be great to get the original video transcript or at least burn it to DVD to present to newbies, prospects and so forth…

Convey benefit with only the domain name… I love domain names that have the ability to convey the benefits of what the site it’s hosted on is about. I’m not talking about just one word domain names that states what it is, but names that convey benefit. For an example: Mattress.com (one word). Why not SleepPeacefully.com? Which sounds better?
Or Vacation.com, how ...

This keyword set is a sleeper poised to break through due to frantic developments of a better slim notebook by other competitors of Apple.

Know the words of your niche, it’ll pay off… The other day I saw two domain names that screamed easily at me off a list of names expiring I was scanning. Because I’m familiar with both industries (as a touring drummer, and worked janitorial), I was startled to see the names…just sitting there. Then I realized, fortunately for me that whoever else was looking

An investment worth more than domain names It’s hard to let go of your favorite domain name, like having your spouse getting rid of your favorite old holey t-shirt.
I heard words lately that made my heart sink. My wife and I had some educational evaluators over to assess our son’s developmental level. Our son’s name is John (like me) but we call him Johnny....

.ws a hidden potential? That was interesting…
The other day I was approached by yet another person promoting the .ws (WebSite) domain extension. The first time was two years ago when a mlm rep. from a company called Global Domains International, Inc (GDI) approached me about a business opportunity of selling domain names. That person didn’t sa...

Bad Economy = Buy Domains Fast Would it be wise to not invest in domain names while the economy is in trouble? NO, actually this is the best time to buy domain names! Forget Dot whatever, Create Your Own Domain Extensions… I’ve discovered from personal research that it is easier to get others to remember letters+keywords.com as opposed to keywords.net, .org, etc. The big problem with registering names with other extension besides .com is the horrible leakage. For those that are not familiar with leakage (not the kind that requires wearing Depends...

Qualifying Domain Names Now, here’s a great qualifying domain name on a billboard seen in my neighborhood. I say qualifying because the name says it all without any explanation whatsoever and tells those looking for low cost cars in austin that this is the place to go. These types of names are valuable to advertisers as they lend themselves

My First Post….Ever.
Well, it was about time! I finally needed to come out of the domain closet. I’ve spent so much time tediously putting together a nice domain name portfolio.
