.AI Boom Continues Unabated With Another 6-FIgure Sale Topping Latest Chart

We wrote a lot about .ai in our last bi-weekly domain sales report after nine .ai domains landed on our all extension Top 20 Sales Chart. No one knows how long the ccTLD's meteoric artificial intelligence fueled boom will last, but it looks like they will be a fixture on the Big Board for some time to come. Seven more joined the party this time around the track and six of those crashed the top ten, including one that led the entire pack.

For the second report in a row, a six-figure acquisition made by veteran domain investor and broker Andy Booth (Booth.com) sits at #1. After lapping the field with Sound.ai at $250,000 last time out, Andy repeated by picking up  Girlfriend.ai at $170,000.

In a sign of the times, the #2 domain wasn't an .ai but but it was AI related with RiotDomains (@RiotDomain on X) moving SaudiGPT.com for $78,600 via DAN.com. A trio of $50,000 sales followed that included Bison.ai (reported by Namecheap), Loft.ai (sold by LegalBrandMarketing.com) and a non-AI interloper - Pizzos.com through Sedo.

Despite the .ai explosion, the .coms collected the most chart entries, taking 10 of 23 spots overall (the extra spots resulted from a four-way tie for the final position). SnapNames aided the .com cause with their $23,608 sale of #9 Avow.com, as did Michael Mann's DomainMarket.com where #12 (tie) Emeis.com (the Greek word for "we') went for $20,000.

Thanks to the .ai surge, the ccTLDs piled up 10 chart entries as a group with a .de, a .io and a .nl providing back up support). The non .com gTDs settled for the three remaining spots (all claimed by Sedo) with two going to .xyz domains at third to #17 Church.sucks at $13,000 (a tidy sum that most assuredly does not suck)!

One of the biggest highlights of the past couple of weeks was word of a previously unreported $1 million sale that was made last year. Andrew Allemann at DomainNameWire disclosed that industry veteran Richard Lau had sold GLD.com at that price to The GLD Shop, a popular jewelry retailer. As a result we have added that sale to the 2023 Top 100 Chart in our Domain Sales Archive where it now ranks as last year's 5th biggest publicly reported sale.
