The Hiawatha Economic Development Corporation (HEDCO) recently disclosed the sale of the erstwhile GoDaddy premises, situated at 1 Parsons Drive in Hiawatha. The acquisition was made by local development group NGD LLC, a consortium including Doug & Chris Sevey of ENSEVA LLC, Mike & Andy Hodge from Hodge Construction, and Bill & Tracy Bennett.

While the new owners have yet to unveil their redevelopment strategy, the site’s potential is noteworthy. The property, encompassing over 73,000 square feet, was originally built in 1991 and underwent significant renovations in 2017.

This building was a bustling hub for GoDaddy, accommodating over 400 employees in 2020. However, the onset of the COVID19 pandemic prompted GoDaddy to reconsider its space requirements, leading to a downsizing and relocation to more compact office spaces.

Initially, the property was put on the market in 2022 with a price tag of $8.43 million, as per listings on Loop Net. This asking price was later adjusted to $7.025 million in October 2023. The details of the final transaction, including the sale price, remain undisclosed as of now.
