ArtificialIntelligence.com Goes Up for Sale

I tried to buy the ArtificialIntelligence.com domain name multiple times over the last 10 years. The emails I sent to the registrant went unanswered, and I didn’t make much of an effort to follow up on them since then.

This afternoon, I received email responses to my inquiries / offers. The email provided a bit of background information about the ownership of the domain name, which I will not publicly share. In addition, the email announced that the domain name is now for sale. The asking price is $9.9 million USD.

You can visit the domain name to see that the domain name has a “for sale” landing page, which includes the $9.9 million price tag. There is also a form to fill out to express an interest in and/or to submit an offer to buy the domain name

Artificial Intelligence is probably the hottest topic in business and technology circles right now. I won’t speculate about the value of the ArtificialIntelligence.com domain name, but it would be a pretty nice win for an AI-focused company to be able to own ArtificialIntelligence.com.

  1. The domain length is a bit too long. I think it would most likely to be used for redirection and probably as a landing page for annual AI conference/exhibition or so. Not sure if that’s worth $9.9 million.

    • I don’t think so. It’s called artificial intelligence.
Not ai. Ai is a lazy abbreviation. Let’s just start calling porn PO and lastly google owns ai dot com so it’s gone forever

      • The term “AI” is used more widely used than “Artificial Intelligence”. It gets 5 times the number of results on Google. It saves 20 letters and 6 syllables and everyone knows exactly what it means.

  2. Indeed to long
    And 2 worlds
Not saying its not a premium name but 10 mío but then again i would short for the moon too also
It can be deducted from tax for large companies i guess

        • @Omair – I am sorry – The Samwer brothers, one of them Oliver studied at Stanford and was all gushy about the dot com boom. Ebay woudl not hire him so he went back home to Germany and copied it. He then sold it to Ebay for $4bn. Yeah. He literally worked out “Why they succeed” and wrote it up for his MBA thesis. If you trawl the web you can find copies or Amazon has it for some insane price. Just common sense. Work hard. Focus.

They were not liked in the US much but I quite admire their “process”. Had amazing arguments with journalists who decided that was “not fair”.
