Loan.biz - Closes at $11,350
It took until the last 5 minutes of auction to start the bidding war, but it came in fiercely. Finaly the domain name Loan.biz closed at $11,350.  Selling just below the top listed domain in our database (sport.biz at $13,603). There is one small issue. It was pointed out to me earlier in the day that

Loan.biz - Coming to a Close on NameJet
One of the ultrapremium keywords is making its way to the close of auction. Only a few hours remain before the domain name finds a new owner. Out of all of the major keyword domains, this is one of the top in nearly any TLD. This will set an interesting prescedent for the .biz TLD

Godaddy removes the 60 day lock
Its being reported on NamePros that Godaddy is no longer locking domains from transfer after a push. Typically, Godaddy required that domains that were pushed bteween Godaddy accounts be locked for 60 days. As of today, that has been removed. Hopefully this action will reverberate between the registrars and the 60 day lock will be

.biz Generics, dropping like flies
The .biz TLD went live on March 23, 2002.  Thats when the best keywords were taken like sex.biz, poker.biz, ect. Its not suprise that each year around this time, .biz domains seem to be dropping like flies. Many of the original registrants forget to renew or simply dont want to. Over the past few days

Open Letter to Network Solutions and NameJet
Dear Network Solutions and NameJet, Today a domain name from a former Network Solutions customer was auctioned off on the NameJet platform. The domain name is a very common racial slur, SandNigger.com. It is a domain solely of hate and refers to people of Middle Eastern and Arabic descent. In an effort to promote tolerance and decenc...

Domains of Hate Sell Too
Today at NameJet, the domain name SandNigger.com is ending at auction. The expression refers to someone of middle eastern or Arabic background. Its a clear “hate” domain and is incredibly offensive to anyone familiar to the term. So what does that mean for its saleability? Its currently at $370 with less than an hour rema...

Poker stilll a hot Keyword
AllStarPoker.com just continues to rise on NameJet (currently at $5,743). Something that makes me a bit nervous about this domain is the clear TM issue. It is confusingly similar to the very popular poker site: PokerStars.com. Regardless it is a nice sale for a 3 keyword domain name.

Escrow.com - New Loophole?
I use Escrow.com for most of my larger transactions. I like to deal with a company I can get a hold of during business hours on the phone. Ive never really had an issue with any transactions until today. I had pushed a domain name to a customer last week, and she had yet to

Godaddy Updates their Push Function
No longer do you need to fill in the new registrants information when trying to push a domain name at Godaddy. Now you simply need the account number and email of the individual you are pushing to. It was about time Godaddy completed this upgrade, as most registrars have simplified the process. Considering I have

When to Press Release, and when not to.
A few nights ago,  I received a press release announcing that the White House domain was for sale. Curiously I read further, thinking WhiteHouse.com was what was being sold. A brief look into the press release determined that the domain name was WhiteHouseUSA.com. I thought how silly that someone would pay for a press release,

Network Solutions and Customer Service
One of the oldest registrars also happens to have the most incompetent customer service reps. Not that they are not friendly or polite, but their lack of understanding in regards to their own products is frightening. I cringe whenever I need to speak to someone there as I always have to explain how things work.

NameJet Backorder Sniping
A new strategy is emerging at NameJet. A common practice on Ebay - Auction Sniping, is beginning to develop for backorders. Hyphenated Domains Getting some Love
Domain names containing hyphens have always had a poor stigma attached to them. Most domain resellers stay far away because the lack of demand from end-users to use these type of domains and /or the fear of developing on them and having traffic bleed to the non-hyphenated version. However, in the past year, many domainers
